Rights and Privacy Act
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) mandates that educational institutions maintain the confidentiality of student educational records as defined by FERPA. Students should be aware that the Learning Commons operates within the policy as it is defined by Allegheny College. All records related to student consultations in speech, writing, and technology created in the Learning Commons will be retained and used according to the privacy rights defined by FERPA. Students may, at their discretion, allow the Learning Commons to collect personally identifying information.
